You can't see stars if there is no darkness. This song represents the stars I found in the darkness. I took all the bad and made it into the thing that I love most, music! So now I look at my past with gratitude.
“Thank You For That” was written to someone who I thought had completely broken me. I felt worthless, powerless, lost, and defeated. I decided I didn't want to feel that way anymore. I couldn't let this person take me down any longer, so I got up and built myself back up again. It made me the person who I am today, along with inspiring me to use music as an outlet and a way to cope with the pains and struggles I’d gone through. In other words, without all of the darkness there would be no light. The strength, power, growth, and music is my light and I thank that person for that.

For me this song represents how it can feel in a toxic or unhealthy relationship with another. It can be so twisted, confusing, and crazy that it can make you crazy.
Obviously, the lyrics are exaggerated and extreme but so is the feeling when dealing with a toxic relationship. This song doesn’t just represent a “psycho”girl who lost her sanity dealing with this guy. But it represents how a sweet innocent girl who just wanted to love and be loved got mistreated for so long and it drove her mad.
